Australia - Photos Exmouth to Karajini Nat Park

From the Cathedral termite mounds of Exmouth we headed in land to Tom Price to camp before entering the stunningly breath taking Pilbara area it is known for its haunting red-dust landscape and as Australia's best gorge country, with the Karijini Nat Park.

It is not hard to see how I fell in love with the immenseness, beauty and mystique of Karaijini's towering gorges, chasms, deep falls and pools. It is WA's second largest Nat Park, with an excess of 600,000 hectares. We toured around the various gorges, pools and falls all of which had its own mysterious and magical character. Swimming and climbing down as far down the various gorges and pools as we could.

The views are just breath taking, it is so beautiful, so.. so I don't know, just go there and then you'll know what I mean. I was once told by a Dutch girl that the reason she always wrote in English was that it meant that she could describe things so much clearer and in so many ways. Yet I'm at a loss to find the words to use to explain to you all what an incredible place this realy is.

We camped out in the Nat Park that night looking out across the apparent never ending bush, the sunset that night was spectacular as it set far behind our tents, with the camp area almost deserted of other campers.

We hit the beer, wine and port hard that night, finishing every drop of alcohol after various drinking games.

The next day after a hazy slow rise we headed off to complete the rest of the gorges and falls that we had not seen the day before. We walked down through the deserted and incredibly spellbinding Dales Gorge diving into various pools along the way. The scenery was just so incredible that we all believed that it was out of a film set like something from Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider.
